Ivan Jordanov · Developer & technical lead
I have been building software since 2007. My work has grown from website design and development into e-commerce, business systems, API services and technical leadership. What connects it all is an interest in how people work — and how software can make that work easier.
My early years at Software Solutions and ImageShakers brought design, front-end and back-end development together. Working across the whole website taught me to consider what visitors see alongside the code and data behind it. That connection still shapes the way I build.
Freelance work from 2013 took me beyond websites into CMS, CRM, ERP and warehouse systems. I worked directly with clients to understand sales, invoicing, stock, employee and project management. Turning those conversations into working software became as important as choosing the technology.
At Level 26, I moved into technical leadership across development, QA, design and support. Our work included a CRM used in more than 200 call centres, a CMS for over 100 brand websites, internal reporting tools and the APIs between them. Later, as a team lead and then CTO at Online Company, I worked across e-commerce, ERP, CRM, warehouse software and infrastructure, alongside sales, marketing, accounting and warehouse teams.
From 2022 to 2026 at Evolution, my focus was PHP backend services connecting casino games with operators around the world. The work covered player actions and financial transaction flows, new services, performance improvements, code reviews and close collaboration with QA through to production.
I start by understanding the process, agree a practical scope and keep the interface, integrations and deployment in view. I enjoy both building something new and improving an existing system. Depending on the project, that can mean hands-on development, technical direction or helping a team decide what to tackle next.
My toolkit
Services and integrations
PHP and Laravel are central to my toolkit, alongside experience with Symfony, CodeIgniter and REST APIs. My database and caching work includes MySQL, MariaDB and Redis.
Interfaces people use
My experience includes JavaScript, Vue.js, React and Node.js, as well as Flutter and Kotlin for mobile development. The interface and the services behind it need to work well together.
Beyond the application
Linux servers, Docker, Nginx, Apache, Proxmox, AWS, Cloudflare and Git are part of my technical background. I consider hosting, deployment and ongoing maintenance alongside application development.
Processes connected
E-commerce, ERP, CRM and warehouse systems have been a recurring part of my work: connecting orders, stock, invoices, reporting and the teams responsible for them.
Current stack
For business systems, websites and API integrations, I use PHP and Laravel, with Blade for server-rendered pages. I connect separate services through REST/JSON APIs. For projects that collect and process GPS data, I use Go.
Current stack
For public websites, I work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. For interactive dashboards and business tools, I use Livewire, Volt, Flux UI and Alpine.js, with Tailwind CSS and Vite. When a project needs charts or rich-text editing, I use ECharts and Tiptap.
Current stack
I choose the database to suit the project: MariaDB for business applications, SQLite for simpler standalone setups, and PostgreSQL for GPS data processing. Where services need caching or coordination, I use Redis.
Current stack
For mobile projects that need Android and iOS support, I use Flutter and Dart. When a feature needs native platform integration, I work with Kotlin and Swift, including CarPlay and iOS Live Activities. For push notifications, I use Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Current stack
For projects with maps and turn-by-turn guidance, I use Google Maps and the Google Navigation SDK. When routing and place queries need to run on dedicated infrastructure, I use OpenStreetMap data, Valhalla and Overpass. For vehicle tracking integrations, I use Traccar.
Current stack
For projects that connect software to payment or fiscal devices, I use Node.js for local Windows and Linux agents. I use C, PowerShell, Bash and WiX for installation and background services, and integrate Stripe or myPOS when a website needs online payments.
Current stack
For hosting and deployment, I work with Linux, Docker Compose, Nginx, PHP-FPM, Caddy and Traefik, depending on the setup. I use Bash and SSH for server preparation, deployment and backups, Python for map infrastructure automation, and Git for version control.
Current stack
I use Pest and PHPUnit for PHP projects, Flutter tests for mobile apps, and the testing tools provided by Go, Node.js and Python for those services. For browser and performance checks, I use Playwright and Lighthouse. Build tooling depends on the project: Composer, npm, Gradle or Xcode.
